The Rangeline Approach

The Rangeline Approach

December 01, 2021

At Rangeline Solutions, a Nexer Group Company, we’re with our clients every step of the way. From analyzing business processes, to supporting staff after go-live, we act as your true partners.

Your new Microsoft D365 Finance and Supply Chain Management system could meet all of your requirements, but a project may never reach its intended target without a holistic approach—we cover what you do, how you do it, and why. Rangeline Solutions, a Nexer Group Company guides our clients through the entire project delivery process. Take a look at our approach to ERP projects and working with clients.

1. Requirements Gathering

The key to any ERP project is a thoughtful, organized, and well-planned requirements gathering process. Not only will it play a critical part in the success of the project, but it will set the tone of what follows.

Our consultants gather information from all the stakeholders in your organization. Those in management may have more decision-making power, but the system users will likely be spending more time executing tasks and processes. A diverse set of experiences and viewpoints will make for a successful project.

Through our requirements gathering process, we gain a better understanding of both the technical and functional aspects of your operations. In our consultation sessions, we gather insight from subject matter experts (SME) into how and why you perform operations so that we can design and deliver a solution that offers you faster, more efficient, and more visible operations.

2. Project Initiation

After we have gathered your requirements, we fully establish and agree on the project governance, delivery team, project roles and responsibilities, and process scope. These components set up the project plan foundation and will be used throughout the project lifecycle. This is a 100% collaborative effort between Rangeline and you.

3. Reiterative Rangeline Delivery Process

Rangeline solutions deploys a reiterative design>test>refine>feedback>repeat approach based upon Agile software development methodology.

  • Design – Design is a collaborative process. We discuss possible configurations, determine the best possible solution, and build a base prototype for your organization. We simplify our projects by viewing solutions in terms of the out-of-the-box functionalities of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Supply Chain Management.
  • Review and Test – After the initial prototype build is complete, our consultants will take the subject matter experts (SMEs) through a guided demonstration to replicate their business processes in their new system. It is critically important that the SMEs spend enough time testing to execute their processes independently and verify the results.
  • Refine – During the testing process, the SMEs will either confirm that they can successfully execute their business processes in the new system or begin to recognize areas for system enhancement. Should enhancements be required, the Rangeline consultants will work closely with the client to gather these requirements. Our technical team will then step in to deliver the new functionality for client review and continued testing.
  • Feedback – Conference Room Pilot – The final stage in the Rangeline Reiterative Delivery process is to have an end-to-end conference room pilot (CRP). During a CRP, we review business processes from end to end. This is the last opportunity to identify any remaining system gaps or issues that need to be addressed prior to deployment.

4. Deploy

Key activities during the Rangeline deploy phase include user-acceptance testing, end-user training, and go-live readiness assessment.

User Acceptance Testing (UAT)

Test, test, test. That is our motto. The participating SMEs will review the system and verify that the complete Microsoft Dynamics 365 solution with all ISV components work and are ready for go-live. This will ensure a superior quality solution, fewer support calls, less maintenance, greater usability, and a higher user adoption rate.

By the time go-live approaches, testing will be so extensive and thorough that the team will not feel like they are “going live.” The SMEs’ ability to successfully demonstrate an end-to-end walkthrough of business processes is a powerful indicator of Go Live success.

End-User Training

Rangeline believes in client empowerment and autonomy. We want our client SMEs to be so comfortable in the new system that they can share that knowledge with the rest of the organization. During end-user training, the SMEs will lead sessions to train and coach their colleagues on how to conduct their “day in the life” processes in their new system.

Go Live Readiness

During the Go Live Readiness Phase, the client project manager will work closely with their project team to complete and submit the Go Live Checklist to Microsoft through Lifecycle Services (LCS). The checklist covers topics such as licensing, peak levels of transactions, and performance testing. Once Microsoft approves the checklist, the production environment can be provisioned for the transition to go live.

5. Review and Support

Your internal team will always need a little support. With Rangeline’s rapid response times, the Rangeline team will be readily available to help ensure your operations run smoothly and effectively.

Whether you’re looking for assistance with new project initiatives, break/fix support, or would like the peace of mind with a support subscription model, we design the support package that makes sense for your organization and internal staff.
